Service & Leadership

The partnership between Wiltja, Surf lifesaving and Henley Beach surf club has been providing water safety education to Wiltja students for 12 years and builds leadership in students through education. In that time 68 students have registered qualifications in surf rescue, bronze medallion, pool lifeguard and CPR. Students have been employed by SLS to tutor other Wiltja students, work on the lands supporting education and have worked in the pools in both APY and NT. Having this safety knowledge and working in communities defines our students as leaders as well as skilling them to keep their families safe, teach others and provides a pathway to employment.
